!!IMPORTANT NOTICE!!

Please note the following changes.

As a lot of you already know the Legion has been having trouble finding volunteer help to run the Friday night meals.

Because of this the weekly Friday night meal will cease as of July 14th and will continue on a monthly basis starting on Friday, September 15th and going forward with the 3rd Friday of every month.

Post 300 regrets the need to discontinue the Friday night meals after all of these years but as things change Post 300 must change also.  Please join us on the 3rd Friday of the month for a great meal!

"Mesothelioma Resource"

What is mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is a serious, incurable cancer that can affect the lining (mesothelium) of the lungs, chest, abdomen or heart. It usually takes 15-60 years to develop. This is why veterans who served years ago remain at risk. It is primarily caused by exposure to asbestos fibers that are inhaled or ingested. The fibers become lodged in the body, which can cause internal tissue scarring and eventually the growth of cancerous cells. Like other cancers, mesothelioma is diagnosed in stages depending on its severity at the time of diagnosis, with Stage 1 the least severe and Stage 4 the most progressed. While it cannot be cured, there are some potential treatments, like surgery and chemotherapy.

IDENTITY THEFT PROTECTION

Have you or someone you know been the victim of identity theft?  It can be a frightening experience and not one that you should have to deal with.

I am putting this information on this site because I want to share with you a resource that I think would be useful to the Veterans in our community. As you may be aware
of already older Vets and retirees are becoming increasingly popular targets for identity thieves. The headaches, stress, and monetary losses that come with being a victim can be life altering for families.

One way identity theft can be prevented is by enrolling in an identity theft protection service that will prevent identity theft from ever occurring. Not only do identity theft services notify you of suspicious activity, they also go as far as to monitor every bit of sensitive information including bank info, credit card info, social security numbers, and even addresses and names.

Because of this and because the options for choosing an identity theft protection service can get complicated, I have included a free resource guide that will help guide vets, retirees, and their families in choosing an identity theft protection service that best suits their needs. Our guide is filled with in-depth reviews, detailed comparisons, and expert ratings.  Below you will find links to resources that might be able to help you protect you and your family from the devastating effects of identity theft.

Bert G. Taylor post 300 in no way recommends any particular service.  The site below will give you the pros and cons of all services that are currently available.  The decision is strictly yours.

If you find that any of these sites are not what they claim to be or the info is not correct, please let me know via email so I can remove from the site.

Dear American Legion Post #300,

I have always been proud to tell people I am a member of the ALP#300 SAL. I am even more proud to let this tremendous American Institution know that my son has received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis.  Bryant Schlade reports for Induction Day on July 1.

The attached photo is one of Bryant accepting Congressional Recognition of the appointment from nominating Congressman, the Honorable Robert Latta, on Sunday, May 4, 2014 in Bowling Green, Ohio.

God bless the USA!

Sincerely,

Jeff Schlade

This is indeed an honor and we should be proud of the of efforts or our own members.

Job Well Done! to both Bryant and Jeff.
